Chest Pains

So I promised an update about my injury for about 2 weeks now! I really have been slacking off, but I think I have a pretty good excuse.

Well I ran my 1/2 Marathon on Sunday and felt fine. I went to work out on Monday and felt fine. Tuesday I was sore so I didn't work out. Then Wednesday I felt fine again so I worked out. Like I said, I felt fine, until I got home from Stroller Strides. Talan had a rough day that day so we had to leave early. (He scratched my friends daughter and he knows that hitting/scratching is uncalled for behavior and we left) Anyways, I don't know if it was from the stress of that incident that sparked it or just everything that I have been doing the last few months. When I got home I started having major chest pains. Like whoa...I think I am having a heart attack chest pains. I felt like a truck was sitting on my chest, I couldn't breathe. I sat down thinking it would go away if I just relaxed and it didn't stop.

I called Mark at work to tell him what was going on and of course he starts to worry which worried me more and made my breathing even faster and harder to breathe. I sat on the couch basically freaking out not know what to do...I had the boys here and couldn't exactly go to the emergency room, but always I worried what if I need to call 911 and can't.

So by about 5pm I had had enough and made Mark take me to the E.R. We got there and they took us right back since I was having difficulty breathing. I ended up getting an EKG which came back negative for any heart problems. They told me that it was most likely Costochondritis, which is inflammation in the cartilage in my rib cage. Lovely! The only remedy for it is rest and ibuprofen. Sound familiar? I don't know what is up with my body lately but it's always something.

I have been "resting" (how can I really rest with 2 toddlers?) for the past 2 weeks and it is finally feeling a bit better but of course I woke up yesterday with a bad cold so now I am dealing with that as well. Fun Fun!

So enough with the complaining/venting!

Here are some cute pics from the last couple weeks!

  2. So glad that you are okay, that is definitely a scary situation. It would totally freak me out! The things that would run through my mind would probably give me a heart attack!

Cute pics, love the black and white. Does that freak you out, your son on the bike??? Tim has been wanting to get Riley on one and it scares the crap out of me. But she's a girl and I think that's why. I don't know!!
